Experience :  

  • 10+ years of experience in Consumer durables industry out of which atleast 4+ years should be in retail Industry Handling Buying function for a specific product lines
  • Desirable Attributes- Strong Business and leadership skills, excellent negotiation and analytical skills, communication and team management skills, strong responsibility, business ownership, adaptability & flexibility attributes

Role Definition: Responsible for buying function product Segment (Product Bricks)

Role Summary: Develop strategy and lead tactical execution for assigned business areas, negotiate acceptable terms and programs with suppliers and manage relationship,

Key Activities

  • Manage supplier relationships, negotiate programs, select assortments, optimize support
  • Develop and maintain sales plan- manage purchase plan, communicate forecasts to suppliers and resolve inventory issues
  • Manage assortment productivity as well as price, promo and EOL activities
  • Recommend marketing & advertising activities, manage approved activities
  • Manage analysis of business, report out as required (WBR)
  • Understand competition and customers
  • Visit stores and suppliers
  • Recommend & manage store activities to support business objectives
  • Direct space plan to support business objectives (POG)
  • Work with sourcing as needed to achieve business objectives
  • Manage workload of direct reports

Key Performance Indicators:

  • Quality of business performance to plan- sales, margin, market share, DOH, etc.
  • Quality of business activities managed, accuracy and adherence to deadlines
  • Relationship management skills- leadership, teamwork and responsiveness with suppliers, stores, support departments
  • Manage & develop team members
