Roles and Responsibility

To actively promote Safety, Health, Welfare and the Environment.

Carry out the duties of a Breathing Apparatus wearer or BA entry control officer as detailed on a structural or airfield crash rescue crew.

Assist in the inspection of vehicles and equipment to ensure their availability for the airfield category or structural duties required; any deficiencies are reported directly to the duty air traffic controller via the duty Crew Manager.\Drive a range of fire vehicles at KFIA, routinely and at safely at speed safely whilst attending emergency calls. Position vehicles so it can be best used tactically and operate associated equipment such as branch or monitor operator, under the direction of the Crew or Watch Manager.

Assist in the inspection, servicing and maintenance of a range of first aid fire appliances and installed fire protection equipment.

Essential

A demonstrable competency record within the role of firefighter through courses held at IFTC or similarly approved civilian training establishment. All levels as described ICAO doc 9137, Airport Services Manual part 1, Rescue and Firefighting
