Job Description:

Key Purpose:

When an emergency call is received in the emergency Fire Control Room, based in the main fire station, will obtain as much information as possible about the emergency, and using a range of technology, will despatch the appropriate fire appliances and other resources.
Most Preferred Background From Airlines/ Airport.

Roles and Responsibility

Quickly and efficiently implement requests for resources, specialised equipment or additional information in support of the Incident Commander the incident.

Deal with many varied types of incidents such as aircraft and structural, road traffic accidents, chemical and fuel spillages and many other emergency situations. 

Maintain communications equipment within the Control Room. Be fully competent in using workplace IT systems and maintaining customer security/processes.

Role Essential:     

Sees those they interact with as customers and seeks to identify and meet needs, taking swift action to resolve issues with integrity. Always alert to the customers point of view and demonstrates a sense of urgency and importance.

Essential

A demonstrable competency record within the role of Fire Watch Room Assistant through approved civilian and military training establishment.

Must be able to function well under pressure, work within a team, be able to react quickly, think fast and take and relay information and instructions accurately.

Have a good command of the English language, be able to communicate clearly and have good keyboard skills

Must pass medical and fitness standards Visual, hearing and general health.
